So I came across this recipe for homemade protein bars and I figured they weren’t going to compare to the store bought ones...BUT DARN I WAS WRONG!
These are perfectly sweet and loaded with protein which makes them a perfect mid-day or post workout treat! They’re SO quick to put together and the best part is...THEY DON'T REQUIRE ANY BAKING! Try these out with the family and let me know what you think! ⠀⠀ What you'll need:
•1/2 cup natural peanut butter •2 tbsp coconut oil •1/3 cup organic honey •1 tsp vanilla extract •2/3 cup vanilla whey isolate protein powder •1 cup large flake oats •2 tbsp chia seeds •1/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut ⠀⠀ What you'll need to do:
1. Heat peanut butter, coconut oil, honey and vanilla over a saucepan and mix together until well combined. 2. Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl. Stir in protein powder. 3. Mix in oats, chia seeds and coconut flakes until combined. 4. Place in a loaf pan lined with parchment paper and press mixture down in pan to form one even layer. 5. Place in fridge for one hour before removing and slicing into 12 bars. Keep bars in fridge until consumption.
